About its Nature.

Soqtapata is a concession for conservation purposes of 9,618 ha between 900-4,600 m.a.s.l.; that seeks to protect the virgin forests of Camanti in Cusco-Peru; threatened by mining, logging and agriculture. Visit @soqtapata_preservation to learn more.

Our purpose is to secure wildlife on +300,000 ha. of forests in the Tropical Andes hotspot; protecting, learning and innovating hand in hand with Camanti's people. ​

Tropical Andes Hotspot

Being part of the Tropical Andes Hotspot, this is an area that occupies the first places in biodiversity in the world, with forests, rivers and lakes in good condition, offering good possibilities of sighting various species, both those that we have called icons or flagship species, such as orchids, tree ferns, cocks of the rock, spectacled bears, among others.

Why to protect?

A total of 150,000 plant species (50% of the world total) and 22,022 terrestrial vertebrates (77% of the world total) live in these points. According to Conservation International (CI); The tropical Andes are one of the 37 HotSpots on the planet.

Biodiversity

Flora (orchids, bromeliads, heliconias), Plants (tree ferns), Fauna (Giant anteater,, Ocelots, Woolly Monkeys, Spectacled Bears, Pumas, Jaguars, Cock of the Rocks, etc.) or in larger groups (observation of birds, mammals, etc.).
